This small panel, found at the bottom of the left-hand sidebar, allows you to either attach objects to each other or merge them into a single one. 👇
The difference between attaching and merging is important:
Attaching creates a parent-child relationship between meshes. When you move the parent mesh, all the child meshes follow it. However, moving a child mesh does not affect the others.
Merging combines multiple meshes into a single mesh. You can then only move or manipulate it as a whole — there's no longer a parent-child relationship. 🧩
⚙️ Available Actions
Attach: Group selected meshes together using a parent → children relationship.
Detach: Breaks the parent-child grouping between meshes.
Merge: Combines all selected meshes into a single one.
Unmerge: Attempts to split a merged mesh back into its original separate meshes.
🧠 How it works
To attach objects:
Select the parent mesh first.
Hold CTRL and click the child meshes you want to link.
Click the Attach button.
To merge objects:
Same process: select multiple meshes using CTRL + click.
Then click Merge.
To detach a group:
Select the parent mesh and click Detach.
To unmerge:
Select the merged mesh and click Unmerge.
