The Environment tab lets you modify the sky, water surfaces you’ve added to the scene, the quality of shadows, the ambient music, color filters, performance optimizations, and post-processing effects.
Just like the object properties, each category is organized in collapsible panels in the right-hand panel.
As mentioned in the Editor chapter, you can access this tab via the toolbar:
Here are all the panels in this tab:
Let’s open each section one by one:
🌤️ Sky
Customize the appearance of the sky.
Light Color: Sets the main light color emitted from the sky, often linked to sunlight.
Ambient Color: Determines the ambient color across the entire scene, influencing shadows and reflections.
Time of Day: Selects the time of day (morning, afternoon, evening) to auto-adjust lighting and mood.
Rayleigh: Controls blue atmospheric scattering for more realistic skies.
Inclination: Adjusts the position of the sun or main light source in the sky.
Luminance: Sets the overall brightness of sky lighting.
Mie Directional: Controls the direction of Mie scattering, affecting how light is diffused around the sun or moon.
Mie Coefficient: Adjusts the intensity of Mie scattering (halo effect).
Turbidity: Simulates the haziness or clarity of the sky’s atmosphere.
Camera Offset Y: Vertically shifts the sky’s position relative to the camera.
Cloud Density: Controls how thick or sparse the clouds appear.
Cloud Volume: Adjusts the visual volume of clouds (thick or wispy).
Cloud Speed: Sets the cloud movement speed.
🌊 Water
Change the look and feel of all water surfaces in your scene.
